- Are you really sure it's soldered in? USR has been using a square PLCC
- style socketed prom for the last couple years which requires a very
- specialized extraction tool. If you're used to seeing conventional
- socketed DIP packages, then yes, I can see where you might think that
- the new unit doesn't use a socket. Trust me, it's socketed.
